About This Item
St. Paul, MN: circa 1930s.. Oil on board. 17.5 x 23 inches. Possibly signed lower right. André Boratko was the state director of the Work Progress Administration's Federal Art Project in South Dakota.He moved to California in 1943, where he at first he worked as a production illustrator for Kaiser Shipyards. In 1946 he joined the faculty of the California School of Fine Arts, (later CCAC and then CCA).
