New York: Random House, 1959. First American Edition. Near Fine/Very Good. First American edition, first printing. Signed by Italo Calvino and inscribed to a former owner on the front free endpaper. Bound in publisher's decoratively stamped brown cloth. Near Fine with slight fading to the spine. In a Very Good unclipped dust jacket, spine toned and with a closed tear at the top of the front spine joint, small interior chip to spine and front flap fold.
Synopsis
The Baron in the Trees (1957, Il Barone Rampante) is an Italian novel by Italo Calvino. A metaphor for independence, it tells the adventures of a boy who will spend the rest of his adventurous life up in trees.
