A very solid copy to boot: Tight and VG+ to Near Fine in its patterned crimson cloth, with just a touch of light spotting to the front panel and one small, neat former owner name (Sidney Coggan [1912-1997]--former New York chess player and Harvard graduate) below Fine's on the limitation page. Thick 12mo, lovely marbled endpapers and speckled edges.

It is considered the first systematic book in English on the endgame phase of the game of chess. It is the best-known endgame book in English and is a classic piece of chess endgame literature.
