Original publisher's calf, tooled in gilt and blind, gilt supralibros to upper board, T.E.G. Lightly rubbed and sunned. Very occasional light spotting. From the library of George Briscoe Eyre, recently dispersed, with his name printed in red to the list of members. A Roxburghe Club edition (listed as no. 116 in the Club's catalogue of publications, 1898), 'reprinted from the excessively rare privately-printed edition of Edinburgh, 1599', of King James VI and I's treatise on kingship and government, composed for the benefit of his eldest son, and heir, Henry Duke of Rothesay. .
