Near fine. 4to ; [xvi], 224 + [10]pp ; half-bound in leather over marbled boards; title gilt-stamped to 4 banded spine; pictorial endpapers in sepia; printed on heavy glazed stock; text with photographic illustrations of scenery both in b&w and color; scuffing to board edges; near fine. A rich pictorial history of the Basse Alsace, the lower Alsace region of France, on the west bank of the Upper Rhine River, next to Germany and Switzerland. Areas covered in the volume include: Strasbourg, La Bruche, Mount Sainte-Odile, on the Wine Route, and to the north of Strasbourg.
