Book Condition: Very Good; pocket on FFFP; light smudging of fore edge from thumbing. No DJ. Written by a Confederate Civil War soldier who writes from the Southern standpoint but is not partisan. He writes of the 487 battles fought in the State of Missouri by the Missouri State Guards, which were not Confederate troops but were to repel invasion and to hold the State in an attitude of armed neutrality. The battles occurred between State Guards and Federal troops. The chief battles, raids, and campaigns in the State are outlined with special attention given to the movements of armies. A clean very presentable copy with little use as a library book.
