Weidenfeld & Nicolson, 1954. Hardcover. Good/Good. First UK edition. Black hardback with silver spine titling. Lightly bumped to spine ends. Spine square. Binding sound. Dust jacket good in Mylar with tape repair to the back of spine ends and the back of the top front fore-edge corner; also appears previously to have been taped to the book and has tape ghosts at top and bottom margins of inner flaps. Front cover bright. Prior seller's sticker at bottom margin of front paste down, and small tape ghosts to paste downs and endsheets. Interior else clean, text bright and unmarked. With contributions from Isaac Asimov, Clark Ashton Smith, and others.
Synopsis
Beachheads in Space is an anthology of science fiction stories edited by August Derleth. It was first published by Pellegrini & Cudahy in 1952. Many of the stories had originally appeared in the magazines Astounding Stories, Fantastic Adventures, Science Fiction Adventures, Amazing Stories, Startling Stories, Weird Tales, Planet Stories and Blue Book.
