Spine slightly darkened; small chip to foot, crown similar. Edges uncut at upper and fore. Textblock shows minor dust soiling to upper. Engraved frontis with original tissue guard, illustrations in text. Several small fox marks to guard. Foldout map at rear. A tight copy; pages flexible and easily turned. very good Lowther 948. Seton-Karr records his adventures hunting bears in British Columbia and Alaska in a series of letters, with drawings from his own collection. The author later died in Canada's worst maritime disaster; the sinking of the Empress of Ireland in the St. Lawrence River in 1914. Scare in un-opened copy. 1891
