Original Meridian Book, first printing (April 1960). Blake's introduction is a 40-page essay on Mayakovsky's life, death, work, and the politics surrounding him in the Soviet Union. The dozen poems are printed with the Russian originals and Reavey's translations facing; the satirical drama The Bedbug was translated by Hayward. Mass-market paperback, spine faded, light soil to wraps, foxing to edges and end papers, binding tight. Pages bright and unmarked.
