Laid in is an 11-page reproduced typescript press release on RCA letterhead, dated 25 June 1953, titled "RCA and NBC petition FCC to adopt standards permitting commercial broadcasting of compatible color television." From the library of television pioneer Vladimir K. Zworykin (1888-1982), with his initials written in his hand on the front wrapper and the first page of the press release.

First Edition. All-electronic color television, based on the dot-sequential color technology developed by RCA, was introduced in the United States in 1953 after being approved by the FCC.
