Originally published in French 1928 this is the first English translation it was made into a film starring Catherine Deneuve in 1967 and was the inspiration for Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Diary of a housewife whose vivid sadomasochistic fantasies drive her to seek employment at a brothel. By day, she enacts her customers' wildest fantasies under the pseudonym "Belle de Jour"; in the evenings, she returns home to her chaste marriage. Famous for its unflinching eroticism it offers an eye-opening glance into a unique female psyche. CONDITION Half bound in Blue cloth and Cream Janned Vellum with bright gilt title (clean and unworn) Black eps, Pp 181 printed on fine weave paper. Very bright and crisp, appears unread.
