A first American edition, second printing with the eleven word dedication and no date to title page. Bun-Hur: A Tale of Christ is a historical adventure story that has been called the most influential Christian book of the nineteenth century. It became a best-selling American Novel and inspired other biblical novels. Lewis Wallace was an American Lawyer, Union general and author from Indian. With a twelve page catalogue to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper for H. A. Booth. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good
