About This Item

Berkeley: Max Scherr, 1970. Newspaper. 20p., folded tabloid underground newspaper, photos, ads, features, reviews, listings, personals, columns, mild wear and toning, address label on front wrap, otherwise very good on newsprint. Cover promotes Smogless Sunday with a late 19th century photo of a nude woman with a bike. Inside: a full page of Gay news, including lengthy news on uproar and arbitration surrounding local ABC station, KGO, firing a news editor for being gay and militant; report on the Berkeley Tenants Union's upcoming strike, full-page classic Freak Bros. comic; and a serious hunk of sex ads.
