Green cloth over the spine to brown-green paper boards; 9 inches tall; 262 pages. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear. The dust jacket with the price of $8.95 has modest handling wear with a darkened spine. Stories selected by Hugh Grey with an introduction.. Havilah Babcock was an American manufacturing executive and a joint founder of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation and a loved and respected educator.
Babcock was equally at home in the field as at the blackboard. He used the outdoors as a canvas to draw a vast array of colorful characters, becoming a master of the hunting-fishing tale. His stories were replete with references to English and American literature. More than one hundred of his stories found their way into print in a variety of newspapers and magazines, including Field and Stream.
