I have read several books on Black Jack and they have all been useful to one degree or another. However, almost all of them required me to be a card counter and this took the fun out of it for me. That's why I was intrigued by this book. I bought it and as I read it, what the author said made sense to me. So, I finished reading the whole thing and then I started practicing against a 2 deck configuration. The practice runs seemed to pretty much follow what this guy said. You can still lose but you have a much better chance with the money management and discipline that this guy preaches. I took the formula to the casino first chance I got, which was probably premature based on lack of practice but I won! The first session I sat down at a single deck BJ table and began the process with $200 session money. The $200 is the 40X table minimum recommended for each session. The way this guy was dealing I may as well have been playing pick a number between 1 and 10 like Chevy Chase in Vegas Vacation. I quickly realized that I was going nowere fast but by that time I was down $168 so I left the table and cashed in the other $32. That move was EXTREMELY IMPORTANT because it is the discipline that the author talks about. If you can't do that then there is no book on the planet that will help you because you are your own worst enemy. I took the authors advice and took a short break. I was still feeling positive about the day so I decided to go for session 2. However, I was going to a double deck game with a $10 minimum so I knew I needed $400 for the session. I watched several hands and saw quickly that the hand distribution was much better on this table than on my first table. So, at the end of that shoe I sat down and began playing. I followed the script perfectly and never once during that 35-40 minute session did I ever have to place a CLB bet (read the book to find out what this is). My highest bet was $92 at an L4 wager on the betting chart in the book and I had to make it twice and won each time. I was in the zone the entire time (bets between W1 and L4 on the chart in the book). I should have stopped at 18-20 units ($180-$200) up but the cards were running well so I kept playing a little longer. I didn't stay too much longer though because I know what can happen when you stay too long. I colored up for $846 and tipped the dealers $10. I went to the window, cashed out and walked away for the day a $238 net winner and I felt GREAT! I will probably re-read this book and practice some more before going back to the casino but I can't wait to try it again and hopefully build on my confidence and momentum. You should definitely buy this book!
