A limited, fine letterpress edition of the second volume of the Grabhorn bibliography, printed by Edwin & Robert Grabhorn, Jane & Mary Grabhorn and Sherwood Grover, inscribed to the prior owner "For ----- / with deep affection, as always / from Bob and Jane Grabhorn / May, 1957" (we believe in Jane's hand). Beautifully printed with specimens from numerous publications laid in, an essential item for any collector of the Grabhorn Press.

___DESCRIPTION: Original quarter red morocco and decorative red and white paper covered boards, backstrip lettered in gilt, fore-edge and tail-edge ucut, inscription from Jane and Bob Grabhorn (as set forth above) in ink at the top of the front free endpaper, title-page in red, black and gilt, with illuminated initials and text printed in black and red throughout, illustrated fold-out of printer's devices from the press, six reprinted title-pages or pages of text, one canceled illustration, ten original sheets/leaves/signatures bound in, one "illustration showing different surfaces for the printing of colors", and one page of mounted specimens of binding papers; folio size (14.25" by 10.5"), pagination: [i-vi] vii-xxix [xxx-xxxii] 1-119 [1 colophon], one of 225 copies of the limited first edition.

___CONDITION: A near fine copy, the leather smooth and supple, the text block strong and square with solid hinges, internally bright, and the only prior owner markings being the gift inscription; the binding showing a short tear to the top of the back joint (approx. 1"), a few very minor spots of wear and very light wear to the edges of the boards; still a lovely copy of a desirable bibliography of one of the best of American private presses.

___POSTAGE: Please note that this is an extremely large and heavy book, and therefore additional postage may apply. We are happy to ship at cost to both domestic and international customers, please inquire for details.
