Front Endpaper Stamped "Review Copy / Publication Date / Aug 6 1936 Price $ 2.50" With Slight Offsetting Of Ink On To Front Endpaper. First Printing. Ownership Signature Of George Slaff, Civil Rights Attorney And Later Head Of The Southern California Aclu, After Whom An Aclu Fellowship Was Later Named; Slaff Was Active In Social Causes In New York In The 1930'S, Later Working For The Federal Government And Then For Goldwyn Studios. A Bright, Clean Copy, Slight Age-Darkening To Endpapers, Top Edge Dusty. The Fragile Dust Jacket Is Not Price-Clipped (Price On Rear Flap); Worn And Chipped At All Edges With 1/4" Chipping At Corners And Small Chip On Spine And Front Flap Fold, None Of Which Affect The Lettering.
