About This Item

This was a catalogue for a selected exhibition of Bigos printmakers in St Pauls Contemporary Art Gallery in Leeds.
This inclusive group was organised by Stefan Szczelkun and Kasia Januszko. 6 Polish artists mostly have 2 pages each to introduce themselves with b/w illustration of an example of their work.
Foreword by James Hamilton. Introduction by JerzyStrutynski.
An essential guide to anyone interested in the culture emanating from the post war (born) generation of Polish emigres. The group started in 1986 and went on to have a touring show in Poland starting in Sandomierz. Unique at the time.
Includes an illustrated report on a previous Bigos show in Worcester City Art Gallery.
Now archived by the Tate Archive, London.
This show supported by WYG West Yorkshire Grants.
