Covering a period from the mid 1600s to the mid 1800s, this account of fifteen notable illustrators of bird books ranges from Willughby to Audubon by way of Mark Catesby, Thomas Pennant, John Latham, William Lewin, James Bolton, Prideaux John Selby and others. Printed on acid-free paper, the book is in nice condition. Unfortunately, the Butler Clowes portrait is of a different (London-based) James Bolton.
