Ownership inscription of M F Wallis who would later become Marie Stopes' daughter-in-law. Very good in blue cloth, covers stained to the fore edge, light spotting to text block edges and end papers. This book comes from the collection of the scientist and pioneer birth-control campaigner Marie Stopes (1880-1958) which was inherited by her son the philosopher Harry Stopes-Roe (1924-2014) and sold following the death of his widow Mary Stopes-Roe in May of this year. Mary was herself an academic and author, the daughter of the engineer and inventor of the bouncing bomb, Sir Barnes Wallis. 1934
