About This Item
Montreal, 1952. Pictorial wrappers. Near Fine. John Willie. The fragile, uncommon first printing of issue #7 (1952) of this seminal fashion magazine, published out of Montreal from the mid 1940s through the early 60s and focusing on discipline and bondage. Clean and Near Fine with just a touch of light soiling at the front panel's fore-edge. Edited and published by the formidable John Coutts, who was better known by his pseudonym, John Willie (who created "Sweet Gwendoline", among other characters). A very influential, oft-republished magazine (by Taschen and Belier Press, for example) that paved the way for bondage, S&M and spanking literature that began to appear in the 60s and 70s.
