Novelization of the 1979 Disney blockbuster PG-rated film. The film starred Ernest Borgnine, Anthony Perkins (best known as Norman Bates) and Robert Forster . . . plus two intelligent robots: V.I.N.CENT ("Vital Information Necessary CENTralized") and B.O.B. (BiO-sanitation Battalion). After an extended search for habitable planets and alien life, the USS Palomino heads back to earth when the crew spots an enormous black hole with a space ship suspended on its dangerous edge and somehow managing to resist the hole's enormous attraction.
