Cover story on Huey Newton's accusation that the DA had bribed witnesses in his retrial for the killing of Kathleen Smith. Centerfold spread has photos of a radiothon fundraiser for the Oakland Community School, which was headed by Ericka Huggins. Also includes an article on the Congressional Black Caucus asking for a new probe of the assassination of Malcolm X, protests against the opening of the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant, and more.
