The text pages are clean and bright. laid in is a single sheet of paper (folded once) showing the "General Group Structuring in WASP America." "The essence of a racist society is death; the function of a racist society is murder - the aim of a racist society is annihilation. For too long, too many people have ignored the true nature of the Problem, while seemingly oblivious of its tragic severity and its second destructive ramifications into this nation's alleged existence." This pamphlet contains a series of poems about racism in the United States, especially in the San Francisco Bay area. "Renowned poet, essayist, activist, and teacher Jon B. Eckels (1929-2014) has written 14 volumes of poetry. His most recent, Sing When the Spirit Says Sing: Selected & New Poems 1960-1990 (1999), won an American Book Award in 2000 from the Before Columbus Foundation, and his Home Is Where the Soul Is (1969), published by the influential Broadside Press, is considered one of the seminal works of the Black Arts Movement.
