Book #3 in the YA mystery series featuring intrepid teenage reporter Ken Holt, on assignment for his father's newspaper, & his photographer friend, Sandy Allen. Orig. published in 1950 in a dust-jacketed format, this is a hardcover picture cover edition from the 1960s, with decorative paper-covered boards & no DJ, as issued. This is a later printing, listing to KH#17 in front matter & on back cover. Condition is VG- (minus): very clean, binding strong & straight, pages only modestly tanned but unmarked. Rubbing to extremities, heaviest at both ends of spine & all corners, slight spine fade.
