EDINBURGH: ADAM AND CHARLES BLACK, 1866 Pale green limp card covers with black titles, 160 x 115 mm approx. 54 pp + 48 pp Black's Guide-Book Advertiser for 1867 containing usual publisher's and commercial adverts. All illustrations and Maps/ Plans as called for. First Edition 1866- possible reprint in year of publication as the advertisement page following title is dated May 1866 but advert for Black's New Large Map of England at rear has times press review dated Dec 1866. Good (Covers - a few liquid splash marks but otherwise respectably clean, paper of book block tanned with mild to moderate occasional foxing, light tide mark from a liquid spillage to bottom margin of two leaves - title and the following advertisement page. no previous owner name or insc. NB - restoration work- the spine has at some time been cleaned off and re-glued probably with p.v.a. original paper covered spine professionally replaced with green book cloth and the internal hinges lined with plain paper to reinforce - probably within the last 25 years. Our records show we purchased it in Oct 2010 but it is not a book which we have restored. Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale for further details and condition.
