Yellow card covers on a plastic comb binding; front cover illustrated by the author cartoonist. Dedicated to Major General Alexander A. Vandegrift, U.S. Marine Corps, and the officers and men of the Navy and Marine Corps who served in the Solomons from Aug. to Dec. 1942. Contains 61 full-page single-panel cartoons by Corporal Charles J. Hedinger, who served with the Marines in the South Pacific during World War II. A humorous and realistic picture of Marine life in the South Pacific during the war, with specific observations of Tulagi Harbor in 1942. In Very Good Condition: cover is lightly soiled; crease along lower edge of front cover and along fore-edge of back cover; pages are clean and tight.
