Jacket is worn and chipped along edges. 1 inch closed tear from top edge of jacket front cover. Bottom corner of front jacket flap is clipped. Cover corners are worn. Spine is cracked, but binding is secure. Ink inscription from previous owner on front endpaper. Pages are lightly tanned, but otherwise clean and unmarked.
Synopsis
Edward Gorey's dark sense of humor brings us opera understudy, Ortenzia Caviglia, and her lucky break is the mysterious murder of the reigning diva. Now that she is in the spotlight, she earns an admirer, Mr. Jasper Ankle, who braves dangerous weather and suffers poverty in his quest to hear her perform. As Ortenzia's star rises, Jasper falls into despair, until the desperate collision of performer and fan in true Edward Gorey fashion.
