Fictional portrait of slavery during the Civil War era in South Carolina. Uncommon first edition of this work, later reprinted as part of the Black Heritage Library Collection. No marks in book, front hinge cracked but binding firm. Covers show wear to corners, fraying top and bottom of spine. Book condition VG-.
