About This Item
The Book of Breakfasts with Menus, Recipes and Breakfast Lore by F. Marian McNeill (Alexander Maclehose & Co., 1st edition 1932).
Florence Marian McNeill (1855-1973), author of many well regarded Scottish folklore and cookery related books including The Silver Bough: A Study of the National and Local Festivals of Scotland (MacLellen, 1957-68), The Scot's Kitchen (Blackie, 1929) and The Camper's Kitchen (Maclehose, 1933).
Hardback – publisher's cloth with title to spine and front board, in a dustwrapper. pp xvi, 170. Size: 7.5 x 5 inches approx. (190mm x 130mm).
Dustwrapper rubbed and worn, some tears and small loss; somewhat grubby and stained, very darkened to spine; spine folds delicate and some strengthening with a strip of archival tape to verso. Cloth dusty; light wear and rubbing to spine ends and corner tips. Foxing and offsetting to endpapers, partial erasure of inked name to upper corner of front free endpaper; age tanning to pages and some dustiness but generally clean throughout; edges of page-block spotted and stained.
Nonetheless, remaining a reasonably nice, clean copy in a somewhat worn dustwrapper – uncommon.
