Garden City, New York: Doubleday, Doran & Company, 1928. This attractive Stated First Edition (and unless it's stated, it's not) is in Very Good+ condition. (Click on photo.) The author traces the history of Canada from the age of exploration up through the aftermath of World War I, But instead of providing just dull facts and figures, she makes the history come alive through the human-interest anecdotes about explorers, adventurers, pioneers, and great leaders. To complement the text, the book includes 18 full-page black-and-white illustrations. The book is bound in a yellow cloth with titles and a vignette illustration on both the front panel and spine. The book has top-edge blue-black stain. As for the interior, the binding is tight and secure. There are no names of former owners nor any stains or tears. The pages are clean and bright throughout. The book measures 5 1/2 by 8 1/4 inches and includes 267 pages. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good+/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
