Nice-looking, structurally sound copy in hardcover of the first English edition, having been translated by A. Parfait, and touching on Delfft, Meissen, Wedgewood and other ceramics manufacturers. Publication date not stated, but appears to be 1962. Bound handsomely in a light blue buckram cloth and illustrated by means of a gilt vase. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing moderate wear, protected by a plastic coat, not price-clipped but with wear along top edge especially and chipping to bottom edge. Gorgeous full color photographs to front cover. 137 pp., then a lengthy section of nearly 100 plates, double-side. Reference book for potters, amateur and professional. Raw materials and ways of testing; industrial or studio use; classifications of ceramics (soft wares, Wedgewood, stoneware, porcelain, more); glazes, their molecular formulae, production, firing; pigments, modeling & moulding, kiln-firing; restoration; mathematics of ceramic design. Photo plates range in countries and epochs. Fine in very good dust jacket. JMember, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
