V1: vii, 666; V2: viii, 621; V3:vi, 457 pp. Green half-leather with green pebbled cloth-covered boards; gilt titling and tooling to spines; custom bound by George Whitstanley of Manchester and bearing the gilt crest of the de Trafford baronets on each of the spines; all edges gilt; profusely illustrated with both color and black & white plates, fold-out plates, and black & white photographs. Rubbing and light wear to spines, including heads and tails, raised bands, and sides. Rubbing and light wear to tips. Bookplates bearing the de Trafford coat of arms and crest on the front pastedown of each volume, as well as a bookseller's label at the tail of each pastedown. Bookplate in Volume I has "the Study" lightly written in pencil on it. 2 cm crack at the head of the front hinge of Volume I. Light foxing scattered throughout the set. Bindings nice and firm.
