London: Macmillan and Co, 1893 . Leather. Fine. 6.5" by 4.5". None. A beautifully bound edition of Charlotte M. Yonge's popular collection of short stories, in a tree calf binding. Illustrated with a vignette to the title page. 'Golden Deeds' is a collection of short tales based on true stories of courage and self-sacrifice. Tales include 'The Cup of Water', 'What is a Good Deed?' and 'The Two Friends of Syracuse', and others. To the rear there is an account of the real events mentioned in these tales as well as the time, nation and place they all relate to. In a tree calf binding, with extensive gilt detailing. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Light handling marks to title page, otherwise exceptionally clean and bright. Fine
