New York: The Platt & Monk Co., Inc. , 1935 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. VG/none. Royal Blue Boards with red Thunderbird and titles to front cover and red titles to spine. Fraying to edges and corners. Clean on inside pages, no tears. Map endpapers, "The Indians In This Book Lived In These Places". Map depicts the places where the following story characters lived: Whale Tooth, Cedar Bough , Raven, Little Turtle corn-Flower Buffalo Calf, Otter Tail , Flying Squirrel, Rides away Tinking. Sketches along the borders of every page, Numerous full page 8" by 10" color illustrations throughout. "Painted-Bowl, Litlle Turtle's mother, wove the most beautiful feather robes. She pulled the fuzzy part of the feather from the quill and wound it about yucca fiber strings. These strings she wove into soft light robes which were very warm. For a feather supply she kept wild turkeys in willow pens in part of the big cave. Baskets held her corn meal or flour. she ground the flour in a little open-topped box of plastered stones which held a large curved stone inside. On this she sprinkled kernels of corn and ground them by rubbing them with a smaller, flat stone." .
