About This Item
External dimensions 143 × 115 mm; artist's name in pencil on the verso; in fine condition. Peake 524. Clive Raymond Wallis (1909-83), 'Etcher, produced prints in the 1930s and '40s solely for private circulation. Most were erotic and either German expressionist or American "Ash Can" in style' (Design & Art Australia Online). Sydney Stansell Blake was a Sydney accountant.
Provenance: H.B. (Harry) Muir (1909-1992), bookseller, publisher and bookplate collector; by descent.
