London: Chapman and Hall, 1884. First edition. . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Original green cloth, decorated in black, gilt lettering. Front hinge expertly reinforced, else very good. Small gift inscription on half title page. A collection of short stories. Former owner has noted in pencil "some weird / supernatural" and lightly penciled check three of the stories on the contents page: "A Strange Wooing," A Stick" and "A Sapphire."
