About This Item
New York: Viking Press, 1946. First Edition. Signed presentation copy from author Garson Kanin to Russ Hanlin Sr. who was President and CEO of Sunkist Growers and who was appointed to positions by three U.S. Presidents for his experience in the global marketing sector. Inscribed: “For Russ Hanlin, with thanks, Garson Kanin, NYC, 1950.” The book was the basis of the delightful motion picture of the same name directed by George Cukor starring Judy Holliday, William Holden and Broderick Crawford, which was a success both commercially and artistically. In 2012, the film was added to Library of Congress' National Film Registry, a list of significant American films selected for preservation. The cloth of the book is used and faded, else very good in a very good dust jacket with some light chipping.
