Color illus wraps with white lettering., xii, 235 pp. 53 color, 115 bw plates. Introductory essay by Theodore E. Stebbins, Jr. (The Course of Art in Boston). Other essays by William L. Vance (Redefining "Bostonian"), and Trevor J. Fairbrother (Painting in Boston, 1870-1930), followed by a catalogue of the exhibition. There are 112 pictures by 44 artists, each of whom is given a detailed biography in a section following the illustrations. After these biographies is an appendix of instructors and courses at the Museum School in Boston from 1876-1935. Extensive bibliography. Scarce.
