London: John Murray, 1899. 1st Edition . Cloth. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition, 2nd impression. Red cloth binding, with regimental badge in gilt on the front cover. The covers are pretty clean, slight spine lean towards the front cover, cloth colour on the spine faded, chipping at the spine ends. Hinges good- overpulled in the centre. A few foxing spots on the title page, foxing to the half title page- one or two other minor spots only, the pages are tidy- mild toning, the page edges are uncut. With a fold out map of the Iberian Peninsula (in good order with no repairs). Pages; XVIII, 382. The autobiography of Blakeney in the Peninsular War, he joined the 28th regiment at the age of 15, and gained the rank of Captain.
