Blue cloth with black-and-white plate tipped to front board and black, yellow and gilt pictorial and decorative stamping. xii, 410pp, (10pp ads). Frontispiece, illustrations. Very good. A bit edgeworn and rubbed; delicate front inner hinge expertly, archivally strengthened; bookplate on front pastedown. Tight, decent first edition of this volume in the juvenile "U.S. Service Series." Though fictional, illustrated with nonfiction photographs and images.
