New York: Harper & Brothers, 1924. Reprint. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. 9x6x1. Sturtevant, Wallis. April 1926 printing of new illustrated edition (D-A code on copyright page). Includes scarce original jacket. Pencil gift note dated July 21, 1928 on front endpaper, three 1/2 inch closed jacket tears, rear jacket panel faintly foxed. 1924 Hard Cover. xii, 423, [5] pp. 8vo. Color frontispiece and woodcuts throughout by Wallis Sturtevant. A dramatized history of the American Revolution, which the author states is "an attempt... to give a concise and authentic narrative of the principal battles of the Revolution as witnessed by those who took part in them." Charles Carleton Coffin was an American journalist, author and politician. In 1854 Coffin became employed by The Boston Journal he went on to work for The Boston Atlas until The Boston Atlas merged with The Boston Bee in 1856 becoming the Bee and Atlas. In 1858 Coffin went back to work for The Boston Journal. He wrote a number of historical works, including biographies of James Garfield and Abraham Lincoln.
