"Boys and Girls of Bookland" by Nora Archibald Smith. 1923 1st edition; David McKay Company; Philadelphia. The book is beautifully illustrated with numerous full-page color plates by JESSIE WILLCOX SMITH. The chapters are as follows: David Copperfield; Little Women; Jackanapes; Tiny Tim; Hans Brinker; Alice in Wonderland; The Little Lame Prince; Heidi, the Alpine Rose; Mowgli; Little Nell; Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. Oversized - the book measures 12 1/4" tall x 9 1/2" wide.
Condition:
Some light soiling to the covers; small cloth tears at the cover corners; tiny cloth tear at the left edge of the back cover. There is a small cloth tear at the top-right corner of the spine, and a small piece missing at the bottom-right corner. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Light age-toning to the pages. Consistent foxing to the illustrated (heavy on some plates), and to the pages before and after them. There is a name/date (1937) written in pen on the front end paper. Overall the book is in Good condition.
