New York: E.P. Dutton, 1923. Later printing. Cloth boards; dustjacket; 511pp. Tight, VG copy in lightly toned dustwrapper. Twenty-first printing, in same year as the first. A well-preserved copy. Dedicated "To the Working Women of America." An issue novel of women entering the work force; the heroine juggles home life and a career, finally sacrificing her marriage in order to rise to executive status in a publishing company. The book was a sensation upon publication, and went into at least five printings in the first year and no fewer than thirty printings overall. HANNA 2640.
