About This Item

London: Century. Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket. 2000. First British Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Black cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Nice tight copy, no names or marks inside. ; 366 pages; Trumble was a minimum security federal prison with the usual mix of relitively harmless inmates, swindlers, tax evaders, two Wall Street crooks, a doctor, at least five lawyers - and three former judges. The judges called themselves The Brethren and met each day in the law library, handling cases for other inmates, dispensing jail house justice when necessary - and writing letters. Lots of letters. For they'd worked out a mail scam and the money was starting to pour in. Unfortunately they were about to ensnare someone in their little scam who was too powerful and too well connected. .
