Red cloth with gilt sp. lettering, clean and unworn but sp. fadied and lettering very dull. 752 pp. inc Muirhead Library of Philosophy List and half-title + (1, 3 pub. notices); one leaf slightly extending so edge rubbed, appears to be a binding or cropping error, 1959-dated sig. top fr. end-paper and small Foyles label bottom fr. paste-down, gutter incipiently opening after main text. Despite faults which do not affect main text an acceptable reference/working copy. Brett's original edition was in 3 vols 1912-1921, Peters has added chapter of his own on pp.658-725. Main content focuses very heavily on mental philosophy from Pre-Socratics onwards. Apparently scarce in UK. 14 cm x 22 cm
