London: The Review Press, 1953 First edition. Hardcover book . Brown cloth lettered in black to spine front with black printed adverts to front and back covers. 880pp, plus 85 pages of trade adverts at front and back. With frontispiece photo of Colonel W.H. Whitbread, plus b&w photos of pub signs in plates, and more trade adverts in plates within the main text (some in colour). Subtitled: Containing full Parliamentary, Legal and General Information concerning the Wholesale and Retail Liquor Trade; Statistics; and Directories of the Trade. A Fair copy overall. The pages of the main text are very good, clean and firmly bound (especially for such a thick volume), with some cockling to advert pages at front . The covers are poor: intact but have extensive patchy fading and cloth discolouration to front and back from old water or damp staining. Pictures available.
