About This Item
San Antonio, Naylor Co., 1949. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Dust jacket has chipping to top of spines and edges, good, book near fine. First edition. Adams One-Fifty 28. Guns 419: This most interesting book, assembled from Chisholms earlier writings, was published twelve years after his death. It deals with most of the better known outlaws of Arizona, and the writers opinion of the Earps is not a favorable one. He seems to think that it was the Earp clique who robbed the stages and that it was Doc Holliday who killed Philpot, and he says that Holliday was a vicious killer if there ever was one in the Southwest. Of the OK Corral fight, he says that the Earps knew the Clantons were unarmed and leaving town and that when they threw up their hands at Virgil Earps command the Earps commenced shooting.
