About This Item

Ithaca, NY : Cornell University Press, 1988 Cornell University Press, Ithaca, NY. 1988. Hardcover. Stated First Published 1988. Book is tight, square, but does have underlining and marginal notes throughout from noted Eisenhower scholar Dr. David Nichols; from his private library. Book Condition: bumped head, tail, and lower tips; light shelfwear. DJ: Very Good; wear to head, tail, and tips with small missing pieces; small missing piece at top of rear panel. Blue cloth boards and spine with bright silver lettering in a blue shadowbox on the spine. Blue endpapers. Internal hinges are sound and not split. 263 pp 8vo. The Bricker amendment fight was one of the major constitutional struggles over the control of US Foreign policy in this century. The author places the controversy in the larger framework of the 20th Century so that his analysis of the Eisenhower presidency and the controversy itself helps one understand the more recent fights over the War Powers Act and the Iran-Contra fiasco. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
