About This Item
Harcourt Brace and Company, 1955. First Edition, Second State. Cloth & Boards. Near Fine/Very Good+ in Plastic Cover. A lovely First Edition of one of Eudora Welty's earlier books. This is the second state (with multiple copyright dates) of the First Edition (so stated) of a purported 8,000 total First Edition copies published. The book is Near Fine in condition with rubbing on the cover corners and edges and natural toning to the pages; otherwise it is very clean and solid. The VG+ dustjacket, in a protective plastic cover, is complete and intact with some tears on the edges, some rubbing and soiling; it is clipped at the corners. This book is a collection of Welty's marvelous short stories which further established her reputation as one of the twentieth century's best loved writers.
Synopsis
Welty tells a tale of a young woman leaving her husband and journeying across the Atlantic Ocean to England, and beyond to Cork.
